If you made it this far, I’m so happy to have you here (and honored that you want to know more about me!)

I have a confession to make – I never thought I would live in France!

So, how did I end up here?

I was born and raised in Croatia, and growing up, places like France always seemed like something you’d only see on TV.

I first visited France in 2009 on a school trip to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.

I immediately fell in love with the picturesque houses and cobblestone streets in the city center of Strasbourg, delicious French pastry, and the laid back lifestyle with everybody cycling around.

That trip highly impacted my decision to study law, as I dreamed of living in Strasbourg working in the human rights field.

However, 10 years later I found myself stuck working as a junior lawyer in a Croatian legal office.

After a few years of 50+ hour work weeks, I quit my job, planning to travel until I ran out of money. It must have been destiny because just a few weeks after quitting, I received a dream job offer in Strasbourg!

I moved to France not knowing a word of French, but determined to make it home.

Did I tell you that I moved to France in March 2020?

Yeah, we can all agree it was not the best timing.

However, there was a silver lining to the world shutting down: I got to discover France without the crowds.

And let me tell you, there is so much to see in France once you get off the beaten track.

I stayed in Strasbourg for two years before moving briefly to Paris and then finally to Bordeaux.

Throughout my time here, I haven’t stopped traveling around France, and I don’t intend to stop either—I’ve visited nearly every region in the country, often returning to my favorites.

So, follow along and let’s explore France together!
